Intro & New Features
Going into 2024, Warrior has released the Warrior G7 Senior Goalie Leg Pads. Featuring a HyperComp reinforced knee drive system, a redesigned outer calf wrap, double elastic knee and calf strapping, and a contoured shin cradle. While being available in sizes 32+1.5"-36+1.5", they also come in a variety of different colors.
External Material
The SlidePlate with HD foam inner gusset is upgraded from the previous Airslide seen in older Warrior leg pad models. It’s a polycarbonate slide plate structured specifically to increase sliding performance by lessening friction along the surface throughout the entire game.
Internal Construction
The Warrior G7 sticks to what worked in the previous G5 SR+ pads, which is the use of an HD foam core to increase durability and responsiveness. The foams help stabilize the knee for maneuvering in the butterfly position.
Pad Break
The G7 continues to use CoverEDGE+ design, which is a forward-lean design that creates a better angle when challenging the shot. The outer roll has also been optimized to allow you to hug the post better, which in turn would make for a better seal in both the RVH and butterfly positions.
Boot Angle & Toe Taper
The toe box on the G7 is removable as desired. In response to some feedback Warrior had received from the previous G5, they have lengthened the Active Response toe and bootstraps to help with recovery, particularly in the hips and knees.
Knee Cradle
For better control, the pads use a combination of Warrior’s 360TriFit leg channel and a contoured shape. The semi-built-in knee block returns from previous Ritual models, which is stiffer for a more stable knee landing. The knee cradle on the G7 is adjustable.
Strapping
The pads use Slingwrap knee and calf straps and have included an additional calf strap for a better anchor and greater connection to the leg.
