The Vapor Velocity hockey pants are a Source for Sports exclusive pad release with the new 2022 Vapor protective series. These pants are ideal for the recreational player who wants to get out on the ice with solid protection without worrying about breaking the bank. It includes various features true to the Vapor line, including a tapered fit, an X-Lite Shield spine protector, a cinching closure strapping system, and a 420D nylon shell.
External Materials
The pants are held together by a 420D nylon shell, which is tough, abrasion-resistant, and highly waterproof. This grade of nylon is often used in outdoor equipment and has a good balance between light weight and thickness. The pants also include strategically placed overlays and stretch zones for better reinforcement and flexibility where needed.
Thigh Protection
The thighs are protected with a one-piece thigh guard, complete with molded PE shield inserts.
Hip Protection
The hips have a tapered fit coupled with a molded PE shield insert for good coverage against impact force. As the agility line of Bauer’s hockey equipment, the pants need to allow you to be as aerodynamic as possible while you skate, which is where the tapered fit comes in—it’s a bit tighter at the top and slightly wider at the bottom for less wind resistance while you skate.

The kidneys are protected with molded PE inserts, which are designed for a closer fit while keeping your kidneys fully covered.
Belt/Lace Closure
The pants use skate lace ties coupled with a wrap-around belt with a cinching closure system. This basically means that instead of pulling the belt in one direction, you would pull both from the left and right. This system is built to be a bit more efficient and easier to use than the classic quick strap.
